Zone templates saved you from typing the same set of records for every new domain. The catch was that anything domain specific, like a mail host or a verification value, had to be edited by hand afterwards.
Placeholders in records
Templates now accept variables. You define them once on the template and fill them in when the template is applied to a zone, so one template can serve every domain you manage.
- Define variables per template
- Fill them in on apply, or leave a default
- Preview the resulting records before anything is written
Applying to existing zones
Templates are no longer limited to new zones. Applying one to an existing zone shows a diff first, so you can see exactly which records are added, changed or left alone before you confirm.
